Becker & Poliakoff attorneys have experience in age, race and gender discrimination claims; sexual harassment claims; claims arising under the Americans With Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act; and various other employment actions. We also have extensive experience representing public and private sector clients involved in employment contractual disputes such as non-compete agreements, tenure questions, etc.

Our representation has included:

Employment Policies - The Firm regularly advises its clients concerning employment policies design and review. Our attorneys have drafted many complete employment manuals from "scratch" and have reviewed and revised hundreds more employment manuals.

The policies designed by our attorneys provide our clients the maximum benefit and maximum protection available.

Sexual Harassment - providing counsel for harassment claims as well as advising on proper procedures for proper investigation of complaints, and promulgation of effective sexual harassment policies.

Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) - providing counseling and advice on hiring, firing, and the reasonable accommodation of employees under ADA.

Employment Discrimination - including advice on and litigation in matters under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Florida Civil Rights Act of 1992, that involve age, gender, race, handicap, and national origin discrimination.

Family and Medical Leave Act - preparing and revising policies, advice on and litigation of claims and advice on compliance procedures and litigation avoidance.

Wage and Hour - providing advice on compliance with overtime provisions and defending of Department of Labor audits and wage and hour claims by employees.

Substance Abuse - preparing and revising drug and alcohol policies under federal laws, such as the Drug Free Workplace Act.

Termination and Severance Agreements - providing legal advice including strategies for proper documentation regarding wrongful discharge of employees. Also, drafting and negotiating severance agreements.

Immigration - ensuring compliance with employment related requirements by the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
