Annual Rankings Based on Peer Recognition and Professional Achievement

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL, June 16, 2009 – Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., a diversified commercial law firm with more than 120 attorneys in 13 Florida offices, New York City, Nassau, Prague and affiliated international offices, today announced that 14 of the firm's attorneys received recognition in the annual Florida Super Lawyers listings. The annual listings are prepared by Law & Politics magazine, which selects attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

In selecting attorneys for Super Lawyers, Law & Politics employs a rigorous, multiphase process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel.

Seven Becker & Poliakoff attorneys received “Super Lawyer” ranking, which is awarded to no more than 5 percent of attorneys in the state. The firm's 2009 “Florida Super Lawyers” are:

For six of the attorneys, 2009 represented the fourth consecutive year in the Super Lawyers ranking. Mr. Brock has been chosen annually since 2007.

Florida Super Lawyers also named seven Becker & Poliakoff attorneys to its “Rising Star” and “Star Search” categories. Commercial litigation attorney Michael Schwager was recognized as a 2009 “Rising Star.” Rising Stars are chosen by their peers as being among the top up-and-coming lawyers (40 years or younger, or in practice 10 years or less) in the state.

Additionally, “Star Search” designation was awarded to six attorneys with credentials that indicate a high degree of professional achievement and peer recognition. The “Star Search” designation went to:
