Professional Experience
Deirdre Nero Valladares is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law (J.D., cum laude) and Florida State University (B.A., magna cum laude).
The main focus of Ms. Nero's practice is Immigration and Nationality Law, with an emphasis on business immigration including professional worker non-immigrant visas, employment based permanent residency petitions, consular processing, and related business immigration matters. Ms. Nero has extensive knowledge of and experience with PERM Labor Certification applications. She also routinely handles family immigration matters including spouse and fiancée visas, family based permanent residency petitions, and naturalization.
In addition to Immigration related matters, Ms. Nero works closely with international clients in the food and beverage industry in regards to compliance with the Food and Drug Administration's regulations. She coordinates the Firm's registration of food facilities under the Bioterrorism Act, and is responsible for overseeing the Firm's specialty website www.fda-usa.com. In addition, Deirdre has given various lectures and written several articles on the Bioterrorism Act, in both English and Spanish.
Deirdre speaks Spanish fluently and was certified by the Spanish government at the highest level of fluency for non-native speakers (“Diploma Superior de Español como Lengua Extranjera”). Additionally, Ms. Nero has a working knowledge of Portuguese. She studied in Spain both before and during law school, and interned at two of Spain 's most prestigious law firms. In addition, she completed significant research in comparative law entirely in Spanish. During her law school years, Ms. Nero served as President of the International Law Society and Vice President of the International Moot Court Board.
