Professional Experience
Ms. Heyer-Bednar is an experienced trial attorney with substantial experience in various areas of business litigation and complex commercial litigation at both the trial and appellate court levels. Having chaired over a dozen jury and bench trials in recent years, she has focused her practice in the areas of lender liability litigation, creditor’s bankruptcy litigation, commercial landlord-tenant litigation, shareholder suits and related business disputes. She has been practicing in South Florida since 1988 and has clerked for Jose “Joe” Martinez (current U.S. District Judge, Southern District of Florida) and participated in a Trial Advocacy program with U.S. District Judge Patricia Seitz while in law school. Her most recent trials in both state and federal courts included lender liability defense cases representing major financial institutions in multi-million dollar judgments. In addition to lenders and financial institutions, she also represents clients in the yachting, private travel, transportation, real estate, hospitality and construction industries.
