Professional Experience
Astrid Guardado focuses her practice primarily on business litigation matters, with an emphasis on multi-party civil actions, business disputes, and debt collection issues. Currently, Ms. Guardado supervises the collection and foreclosure department of the Firm’s Tampa Bay Regional office.
In addition to her state and federal court business litigation practice, Ms. Guardado is experienced in handling employment law and real-estate disputes, appellate and insurance defense issues, and community association litigation matters. She has been a featured speaker at several seminars including: “Drafting Solid Employment Contracts" (Housing and Development Law Institute Fall CLE Conference, Baltimore, MD); “Sexual Harassment in the Workplace" (Housing and Development Law Institute Spring CLE Conference, Washington, D.C.); “Privacy in the Workplace-How Far Can an Employer Go” (Massachusetts NAHRO Conference, Cape Cod, MA); "Aids and Housing Law Rights" (Florida Legal Services Annual Symposium, Orlando, FL); and "Basic Consumer Rights" (Homeless Advocacy Project Training, San Francisco Legal Services Program, San Francisco, CA). Ms. Guardado is also a frequent contributor to the Firm’s Business Litigation Perspectives blog.
Activities & Memberships
An active member of the community, Ms. Guardado is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar and Tampa Bay Hispanic Bar Associations, Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers, Seniors in Service, Board of Directors, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, Inc. She is also a licensed Florida real estate sales associate.
