Professional Experience
John Cottle has been practicing law in Florida and Alabama for over 30 years. A founding partner of the firm of Bowles & Cottle, he established a record of involvement in complex commercial and personal injury litigation as well as in business and real estate transactions. After coming to Becker & Poliakoff in 2007, his practice has focused on litigation of real estate and business disputes, representation of condominiums and community associations, and general civil litigation. He has over 40 reported cases including: Cannon v. Macon County (11th Circuit, 1993); Golden v. The Bank of Tallassee (Ala. 1994); In re Wynn (Bkrtcy. M.D. Ala. 2001) and Ex Parte Green (Ala. 2010). His wide breadth of experience includes cases ranging from insurance fraud to shareholder disputes to personal injury and products liability cases. Mr. Cottle is board certified in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar and is considered an expert in the area.

Mr. Cottle is the co-author of “The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill” published in the Florida Community Association Journal, June 2010 and the author of an award winning short story collection, The Blessings of Hard-Used Angels.
