Alan Becker and Gary Poliakoff met in law school at the University of Miami. The two soon to be lawyers “partnered” in Study Group with great success. Each went their separate ways after graduation: Gary pursued a business career while Alan was elected to the Florida Legislature pursuing a political career as a State Representative. The two reunited to assist the Miami Beach Tenants Association, a group of apartment dwellers fighting for their legal rights. The rest, as they say, is history. From a two attorney office in Miami Beach representing condominium and homeowners associations, Alan and Gary guided the firm into new practice areas and in new locations.

The Firm’s expansion reflects the explosive growth that has made Florida the third largest state in the country. After Miami, Broward and Palm Beach County were the next office locations followed by office openings in Sarasota, Orlando, Ft. Myers and Naples. The Firm’s entry into new practice areas also mirrors the growth and diversification of Florida’s economy. Today, the Firm’s core practice areas reflect the state’s sophistication and dynamic economy including: Real Estate, Construction, Government, Commercial Litigation, International Business & Trade and of course, Community Association law.

Along the way, the Firm and its attorneys and staff have made important contributions to the civic, cultural, political, legal and business communities in which we live and work. Participation in local charities and trade groups is fundamental to our continued growth and success because it keeps us connected to our clients and our communities. Most important, however, is that the firm has never deviated from its original mission of providing clients with the highest quality personalized legal service possible.

We are proud of our unique history and truly Floridian story. We are most excited, however, about our future as we continue to grow and diversify our practice areas and geographic mix to assist our clients with new opportunities and their ever-changing needs.
